HOW DOES ALCOHOL AFFECT YOUR FITNESS GAINS?
Many of us have the occasion of drinking nights and sometimes they are really extreme drinking nights, but we hardly think about how it may affect our fitness lives. 
One way it affects us, is by dehydration. The more alcohol your drink, the more you will urinate, and the more you are dehydrated. Along with dehydration and hangover, you will feel increases in fatigue, sluggishness, confusion, and your chances of going to the gym is nearly 0. And it needs to be spelled out, NO GYM=NO GAINS. 
In fact your gains might already be affected even if you don’t exercise. Drinking a lot of alcohol will decrease your testosterone levels by 23%, and with low testosterone comes low muscle recovery and growth. 
High amount of alcohol also decreases your Leptin hormone, which is responsible for keeping you full, so if you are trying to lose weight, good luck with the late night burger and fries. 
Alcohol will also affect in how your body will use energy. Typically your body uses Glycogen and fat as energy source, and when you introduce alcohol to your body, it will break down alcohol for energy instead, so all your calories you consume while under the effect of alcohol will be converted into stored fat. 
Last but not least alcohol lowers your quality of sleep. You fall asleep quicker but it is easily disrupted under the effect of alcohol. When you are asleep, muscle growth and recovery takes place, so if they are disrupted, you prevent your muscle growth.

So if you have a fitness goal you are desperately trying to reach, alcohol is one of your worst enemies. Drink moderately and choose healthier low calorie options.

“How do I lose weight?” I get asked this all the time. Unfortunately, the answer isn’t that straight forward. It’s pretty subjective tbh. What works for one person, may not necessarily work for the next. Sucks, I know. 😪

For example, I tried exercising & cutting back my calories for months with zero results. Why? Because I had Hashimotos Hypothyroidism and had absolutely no idea! So, until I went to my doctor & had my bloodwork checked, then recommended supplements based on my deficiencies- No progress could be made. ❌

Doing research on hormonal imbalances is so important, and unfortunately isn’t discussed enough. 🔬 The American diet causes SO MANY DEFICIENCIES!!! Look into Selenium, D3, Omegas, & Magnesium... (GOOGLE or YouTube it!) Your mind will be BLOWN! 🤯🤯🤯

No matter our circumstance, everyone faces some kind of stress in their daily lives. Some stress is useful and can create a sense of urgency to achieve progress. However, too much stress is a burden and stunts our mental and emotional growth. It's important to deal with stress, so we can live comfortably and focus on what matters.

For all of us, life will always be filled with adversity. The only way to keep growing is to calm the chaos. The most important thing we can do is schedule time for ourselves. This needs to be our number one priority. When we take care of ourselves, we can take care of others. How we spend our alone time depends on what relaxes us the most and gives us a sense of calm.

When in doubt, meditate. Go somewhere quiet, get comfortable, and focus on your breath. Allow yourself to let go of all thoughts and relax your mind. Free yourself from everything external and create inner bliss. Meditation is one of the greatest ways to relieve any kind of stress. ——— Whatever life throws at us, it's vital we understand how to handle it. We're going to face many challenges and being able to cope with obstacles will ease the internal and external pressures.
