Yet another photo of the ranchy pony doing his thang 🔥 .
We’re having fun in Colorado so far! We didn’t do too much today — we went and visited my stepdad’s brother for a while and then went out to eat at a nice little Mexican restaurant. After that we took our two dogs and my stepdad’s brother’s dog for a nice long walk. It was just slightly under 50°F and sunny, so it was pretty nice out! It’s great to finally be able to get outside without freezing your butt off 😂
Make sure you check out my last post — there’s currently a big giveaway going on, you don’t want to miss it! .
QOTD: when you’re older, do you want to live in the state you currently live in, or do you want to move somewhere else? Where do you live now, and where would you like to live in the future? .
We recently celebrated alongside Chino and his adopters, 10 years since he was rescued and first arrived to DEFHR!
Chino was extremely emaciated, suffering from months and months of neglect. Once completing rehabilitation he was adopted a few months later in September 2009. Since, Chino and his adopter, Emily, have been successful in the show ring, proving that the rescue horse is capable of anything! Chino’s remarkable story and recovery have been featured in Horse Illustrated, Washington Post and National Geographic Kids Rescue.
We are grateful for the opportunity to reflect back over our 30 year history and the thousands of horses like Chino that we have been able to provide a second chance for. We are equally grateful to all of the adopters, volunteers and donors that make these success stories possible! ...
Finally the footing dried out enough to ride last night. It wasn’t great but it was doable.
All of my horses are complete mud balls 🤦♀️
Unfortunately it’s not quite warm enough to give them baths yet.
Any else have a muddy horse?
Here is a fun throwback to summer time shenanigans 😁. #trakehner#trakehnersofinstagram#eventhorse#jumpinghorse#pet ...
